Ciara’s background
Ciara graduated with a double first class honours degree in International Commerce and French, from University College Dublin. She started her career as a strategy consultant with Accenture and has spent over a decade as an advisor helping organisations and individuals transform. During this time she also assumed numerous line roles, allowing her to experience first hand many of the issues facing the people she coaches.
She is a qualified coach working under the guidelines of the International Coaching Federation and has trained in various psychological schools and instruments, including: Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Myers-Briggs. Her interest in coaching inspired her to write a book of workplace skills that has been published in several languages including Russian and Chinese.
Ciara speaks a number of languages and is very sensitive to cultural issues having worked in many cities including London, Paris, Sydney and New York.
Ciara’s highlights
- Designed a robust approach to manage performance across a company globally, which improved motivation, retention, and results.
- Worked with Talent Management and various departments to establish values, culture, career paths and the psychological contract with employees.
- Restructured an operations department optimising in-house resource and skills.
- Facilitated workshops to improve communication and inter-departmental co-operation (e.g. agreed solutions to issues affecting the flow of patients with senior medical staff from an Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit).
- Co-ordinated an extensive review of an Executive Committee resulting in improved effectiveness and clarity of role.
- Introduced a co-ordinated approach to discharge management in eight hospital wards, reducing patient stay times and improving bed availability.
- Coached a highly analytical individual in leadership skills, improving in particular, their ability to empathise, motivate and inspire their direct reports.
- Coached numerous individuals with confidence, motivation and stress issues.
