As an actor and dramaturg:  My theatre company being shortlisted for the KSF Artist of Choice Award; performing in Punchdrunk’s award-winning Sleep No More, and BAFTA-nominated 2nd series of BBC’s Ghosts; Umwelt, which I worked on as dramaturg, being staged at The Royal Theatre, Copenhagen.

Why I do this work

I believe that we thrive when we’re communicating clearly and effectively and I want to help as many people as I can find their version of this. There is no moment more satisfying than when a coachee or participant in a workshop has a realisation around how they communicate that will improve their life moving forward. During a time when technology continues to corrode our readiness and capacity to connect with one another, I believe it is more important than ever to bring time, care and craft to this essential component of human life.

My Edge

I am a classically trained actor who has worked internationally for over ten years. As such, I have a specialised range of transferrable skills around audience engagement and have been immersed in working environments that have made me adept at giving and receiving feedback. Alongside this I believe passionately in empowerment: I have a gift for making people feel comfortable, recognising their qualities and helping to bring these forward into the light. After a recent group workshop, the team leader said “I watched team members open up, find clarity in their voices and take the space in a way they hadn’t before. Dan’s work stays with you.”
