A five-year career experience in Paris working for the Global Client consulting group for one of the Big Four. I worked all over the world, with my time in the Congo being one of the most memorable. Observing and working with diverse international cultures has been a real high point of my career.
Managing Director leading the EMEA Finance practice for a global provider of best practice research.
Three years as the Business Manager for an Options trader in the City of London. This was a Chicago-based firm and included working on the floor of the CBOE in the days of open outcry trading. Not for the fainthearted.
Why I do this work
I am fascinated by what drives high performance at the individual, team and enterprise levels. Having seen first-hand – and experienced myself – the transition from technical leader to general manager, I love sharing that journey and combining it with my change skill set. Despite being a non-psychologist, I am a huge fan of isometric models and hold qualifications in several, including Lumina and PROPHET. Working with individuals and teams as they gain a deeper understanding of themselves and each other is highly rewarding, especially when that leads to high performance.
My Edge
As a chartered accountant who made the transition to leadership development, I appreciate the challenges leaders grounded in technical skills live and feel as they drive change in their own organisations.
In addition to executive committee work, I also work with middle managers and senior individual contributors. This allows me to keep grounded and practical.
